Jamiyah Singapore held the annual hallmark event The Exemplary Mother Award (母亲) on 20th October 2018 at Mandarin Orchard Singapore. This year’s EMA we introduced a new category – The Exemplary Young Mother Award that honours mothers below 40 years old who have shown resilience in overcoming life’s challenges, displayed entrepreneurial spirit, and are contributing to society in their own ways. Gracing the event as Guest-of-Honour Her Excellency, President of the Republic of Singapore, Dr Halimah Yacob along with Special Guest Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State Ministry of Culture and Youth & Ministry of Communications and Information and Adviser, Panel of Judges for EMA.

This year’s 26th EMA winner is Ms Bibi Fatimah Binte Sheikh Md who received the Presidential Shield and Award and Ms Ju Ann Thong who won the inaugural Exemplary Young Mother Award 2018. Also present at the ceremony were Chairperson to Panel of Judges Ms Claire Chiang, Panel of Judges and officials of Jamiyah, 教授 (ADJ) 莫哈末哈斯比阿布·巴卡尔·博士 (主席), H M萨利姆博士 (VP 1), 莫哈末先生莫哈末尤努斯谢里夫 (VP 2) and Dr Isa Hassan (VP 3).
