A team of officials from National Council of Social Service (NCSS) headed by Ms Tina Hung, Deputy CEO & Group Director, Service Planning and Funding Group of NCSS met Jamiyah officials on 6th June 2018 at our headquarters.
It was a briefing session on the quality of life of seniors and exploring the possibility of expanding the emerging needs of the growing population of Singapore.
Singapore is emerging as one of the fast ageing society in the world. By 2030 Singapore is expected to become a super aged society with more than 20% of our population over the age of 65.
At the session conducted by Dr H M Saleem, Vice President-I of Jamiyah Singapore. Jamiyah’s elder care services were briefed by Mr Tiwari, Director of Jamiyah Nursing Home, Dr Isa Hassan, Chairman of Jamiyah Home for the Aged and Mr Abdul Halim Aliman, Director of Community Outreach and Development.
Also present from NCSS were Mr Chan Whee Peng, Director, Service Planning and Funding Group, Ms Dayang Hussin, Assistant Director, Eldercare Services, Service Planning and Funding Group, Ms Jean Woon, Manager, Eldercare Services, Service Planning and Funding Group, Ms Samantha Tan, Manager, Membership, Sector Strategy Group, Mr Lim Zhong Hao, Manager, Advocacy and Research, Sector Strategy Group.
Officials from Jamiyah Nursing Home and other centres of Jamiyah were also present.
